Welcome

Welcome to my wargaming blog,
I'm Dave and live in Morpeth, Northumberland in the UK.
This may or may not be a regular thing, we'll just have to see how it goes.

I am a painter/collector of figures first and a wargamer second. My thrill in this great hobby of ours is to place that final well researched & painted unit into the cabinet. The actual gaming with the figures is an important but secondary experience, we all like to win, but it isn't the be all and end all of it, being with good friends and having fun is.
Hope you will enjoy reading this blog as much as I will writing in it.
Just to remind the visitor to scroll down the various pages and click on 'older posts' to see more.
Dave.

II Bavarian Army Corps 1870.

Another piece of work finally compleated. This time it's the II Bavarian Corps for my Franco Prussian War forces.
This corps was made up of two divisions, the 3rd and 4th, each with their own supporting artillery batteries and Jager battalions and I also managed to get the corps reserve cavalry and artillary done (though not the limbers).

The complete II Corps:

3rd Division:

4th Division:

Reserve cavalry brigade and reserve artillery:

These will be added to the two Prussian corps:

Verses three French corps:

French Imperial Guard:

What now? Well don't tell anyone but I do fancy 10mm Russian Naps for the Blucher rules.
We really can't help ourselves can we!
Dave.

  4. Dave - Some really nice work! Congratulations! Several years ago, I sold my 20mm (B&B Miniatures) of some 3,000 figures and have been slowly redoing the period with the Minifig S range, which I really like. Just yesterday, a good friend gave me his 15mm FPW collection. I will get it next week and am very excited. Anxious to find out what make they are. Can I ask you what make your figures are? I really like the old Frontier Miniatures lines. Kindest regards - Hal
