Welcome

Welcome to my wargaming blog,
I'm Dave and live in Morpeth, Northumberland in the UK.
This may or may not be a regular thing, we'll just have to see how it goes.

I am a painter/collector of figures first and a wargamer second. My thrill in this great hobby of ours is to place that final well researched & painted unit into the cabinet. The actual gaming with the figures is an important but secondary experience, we all like to win, but it isn't the be all and end all of it, being with good friends and having fun is.
Hope you will enjoy reading this blog as much as I will writing in it.
Just to remind the visitor to scroll down the various pages and click on 'older posts' to see more.
Dave.

10mm ECW progress

We intend to have a practice game of the For King and Parliament rules at the club Here next month and I kind of said I'd get a few more units done to complement Mick's 10mm collection. Well Mick, it may not happen as I'm up to the eyes with 10mm Napoleonic's at the moment but I thought I would put a few pictures of what ECW stuff I'd done so far.

Photographs were taken with my phone so a bit iffy I'm afraid but it gives you an idea.

  2. This looks great on a hex grid, Dave! I am curious how you are converting FK&P from square grid to hex grid.

  3. Same as To The Strongest Jonathan, the unit faces the apex of the hex in whichever direction it's going, the front two hexes are the 'Front', the rear two hexes are the 'Rear', and the two at the side are the flanks. The unit moves forward through either of the two 'Frontal' hexes. Other than making the units fit inside the hexes the rules are followed as is, just replace the word square with hex, works fine.
    Dave.
