Welcome

Welcome to my wargaming blog,
I'm Dave and live in Morpeth, Northumberland in the UK.
This may or may not be a regular thing, we'll just have to see how it goes.

I am a painter/collector of figures first and a wargamer second. My thrill in this great hobby of ours is to place that final well researched & painted unit into the cabinet. The actual gaming with the figures is an important but secondary experience, we all like to win, but it isn't the be all and end all of it, being with good friends and having fun is.
Hope you will enjoy reading this blog as much as I will writing in it.
Just to remind the visitor to scroll down the various pages and click on 'older posts' to see more.

One for the future. 10mm ECW

As short post for a small unit. I don't usually post pictures of 10mm units one at a time and I won't get into a habit of doing so after this but I have to say I was quite pleased with these 10mm Pendraken ECW figures. Many more to do in the middling distant future bit I couldn't resist painting up one to start with and of course it had to be the King's Lifeguard. Going along with the 10mm theme I'm using for other periods each unit will fit into the 100mm hexes I recently purchased, hence the small size of the units frontage.

Many more to go of course.

Dave.

  3. Very nice and I find small basing allows me to play a variety of rulesets on my 4' x4' table.

  4. That’s the general idea Steve, plus it allows greater depth to be used on the table top. You actually have reserves!

  5. Very nice, I like the dice holding base idea. 3 x 30mm is perfect and versatile for the 100mm hex.

  8. They look very nice indeed! My collection for ECW is in 28mm but I'm starting to find that even some of the smaller battles like Roundway Down are too much of a squeeze on an 8 x 4ft table. 10mm would give me a lot more option. A change to 10mm would be very worthwhile I think.
    Best wishes,
    Jason
