Welcome

Welcome to my wargaming blog,
I'm Dave and live in Morpeth, Northumberland in the UK.
This may or may not be a regular thing, we'll just have to see how it goes.

I am a painter/collector of figures first and a wargamer second. My thrill in this great hobby of ours is to place that final well researched & painted unit into the cabinet. The actual gaming with the figures is an important but secondary experience, we all like to win, but it isn't the be all and end all of it, being with good friends and having fun is.
Hope you will enjoy reading this blog as much as I will writing in it.
Just to remind the visitor to scroll down the various pages and click on 'older posts' to see more.
Dave.

Early Austrians 1792-1800

It's a big bugger!
Finally finished the 48 figure Elite 28mm Austrian battalion, in this case IR 11 'Wallis' fro the French Rev collection:

I have an Old Guard unit unpainted, I wonder if with a small amount of work the figures could be done as Consular Guard for 1800? Really need another Austrian position battery as well, onwards ever onwards!
Dave.

    1. 48 is big. I use 32 and thoight they were pretty unmanageable.

  2. That's an awful lot of figures to paint, but they do look good!

  4. Great work! The Elite Austrians really carry themselves with confidence and panache. Super figures. As for Old Guard as Consular Guard, I did the same with my 18mm project.

  5. Delightful - I do like the kaskett and wish more manufacturers would do them (in 15mm).

  7. Thanks for the comments lads, part of the reason for the unit size is so the I can use them for Sharp Practice, 8 figures to a formation.
